History of Al Ma’arifa International School
Al Ma’arifa International Private School (MIS) was established in 1986. The school is located in Al Yarmook in the heart of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The school’s physical plant includes nine separate buildings. Building A houses the administration offices, the main library, the bookstore, Science labs and staff room. Buildings B, C, D, E, F, G, and H house the classrooms for the Kindergarten, Primary, Middle, and Secondary sections. Building I houses the sports complex which offers multiple gyms and a semi-Olympic style swimming pool. In addition to the libraries, the facilities include a Learning Resource Center for research, reading, and interaction.There are multiple canteens located in different buildings in the school.Through the past 36 years, the school is engaged in imparting education to students from Kindergarten level up to Secondary level in line with the American program. Classrooms with smart boards, Wi-Fi connections, bulletin boards, computer labs, well-equipped science labs, music rooms, art rooms, activity rooms, library, LRC, gym, swimming pool, playgrounds are some of the factors that foster meaningful teaching and pedagogical practices at school.
